Retail Roundup: Bedding brands tap nostalgia, designer collaborations

With the onset of fall, there is always a flurry of launches in the bedding category, particularly as the industry gets closer to the Oct. edition of High Point Market, which will take place Oct. 17-21.

Today’s consumers are seeking bedrooms that feel personal and highly curated; bedding brands are delivering with everything from relaunching nostalgic brands to announcing new designer collaborations. Here are some of the latest notable partnerships and new collections in the bedding industry.

Simply Shabby Chic Returns to Target

One of the most enduring bedding trends in 2026, and one that extends to the broader furnishings category, is nostalgia and consumers’ desire for pieces that look collected, inherited, or vintage. While some consumers are scouring estate sales, others are turning to pieces that simply look the part, and retailers and manufacturers have taken notice.

Target is tapping into that appeal with the return of Simply Shabby Chic through a new, exclusive multiyear partnership in Target stores and on Target.com. The relaunch of Simply Shabby Chic comes more than two decades after the brand originally debuted at Target in 2004, bringing founder Rachel Ashwell’s vintage-inspired aesthetic to a generation of shoppers who may remember the original collection.

According to a statement from Target, the collection is designed to be “mixed, matched and layered to resemble vintage finds and curated heirloom pieces.”

“Simply Shabby Chic offers a beloved, enduring aesthetic that we are thrilled to reintroduce at Target—inspiring today’s guests to create spaces that feel comfortable, lived-in and uniquely their own,” said Mara Sirhal, senior vice president of merchandising, home, Target.

Babyletto Launches First Designer Collaboration with Nate Berkus

Nursery and children’s furniture brand Babyletto unveiled its 12-piece collaboration, Astre, with interior designer Nate Berkus. First announced in February, the collection officially debuted Oct. 1. Bedding is a key part of the assortment, which includes an all-stages crib and Global Organic Textile Standard-certified organic sheets. According to a news release from Babyletto, the collection features custom textiles with Berkus’s hand-painted patterns and details like antique bronze to help the collection feel “layered.”

“We have always believed that a nursery should feel like a natural extension of the home it’s part of, and Nate brought such a personal and distinctive perspective to that idea,” said Teddy Fong, CEO and founder of Babyletto. “Together, we created pieces with real design presence that are also practical for everyday family life and versatile enough to live beyond the nursery and the baby years.”

Ann Gish and Judith Leiber Couture Team Up

Luxury bedding brand Ann Gish is partnering with Judith Leiber Couture on a new collaboration debuting at fall High Point Market. According to High Point Market Authority, the collaboration will bring the world of Judith Leiber’s iconic design, artistry and luxury into the bedroom. The collaboration will be unveiled in the Ann Gish showroom at IHFC, InterHall 112-114, during the market.

The collaboration adds another designer name to a bedding category where brands are using partnerships to introduce distinctive aesthetics and reach new customers. Details about specific products and pricing were not included in the market announcement.
