Officials see more growth for High Point as mattress market

The High Point Market, which welcomes two new mattress exhibitors, continues to gain importance as a mattress event. And market officials say more growth is on the way.

There are now about 40 mattress and sleep accessories companies and brands represented at the High Point Market, including major bedding players like Tempur Sealy and Serta Simmons Bedding who opened showrooms in the International Home Furnishings Center in recent years to support their partnership with Ashley retailers.

Each market a few more bedding companies join the High Point bedding scene, adding luster to the mattress lineup in the Furniture Capital of the World.

New at this market are Molecule, the digitally native mattress brand, and Symphony Sleep, an adjustable bedding specialist. Molecule is showing in the International Home Furnishings Center, H504, while Symphony Sleep is showing at the Centers of High Point in space H-131.

Amory Wooden, chief marketing officer for Andmore, the owner of the High Point and Las Vegas Markets, says High Point is an attractive venue for mattress exhibitors, particularly those serving furniture retailers.

“High Point continues to gain relevance as a strategic touchpoint for mattress manufacturers looking to engage furniture-focused retailers, particularly along the East Coast,” she told Bedding News Now. “The brands that choose to exhibit here are doing so intentionally to reach a buyer audience that may not attend any other shows. As more furniture retailers view bedding as an important extension of their business, High Point Market offers a valuable platform for that interaction.”

She predicts that trend will continue.

“Yes, we believe that growth will continue, particularly among mattress brands seeking to broaden their distribution beyond traditional mattress specialty stores,” Wooden said.

“High Point Market attracts a concentrated group of furniture retailers who are already investing across multiple categories, making it an efficient environment for bedding companies to expand their reach.”

The shopping patterns of the furniture retailers attending the High Point Market favor mattress exhibitors, Wooden added.

“Mattresses align well with the High Point Market because of the way furniture retailers shop the event,” she observed. “Buyers are already sourcing bedroom, upholstery and whole-home categories, and bedding naturally complements that assortment. For manufacturers, High Point Market provides the opportunity to engage with retailers who may not encounter their products elsewhere in a market setting.”

She said that Tempur Sealy, Purple, and Serta Simmons Bedding, which all took IHFC spaces to support the Ashley dealer network shopping the High Point Market, “remain committed to exhibiting in the IHFC. Their primary objective continues to be meeting with Ashley Furniture Homestore partners attending High Point Market, with a secondary objective of engaging additional East Coast furniture retailers.”

She added that Purple has relocated to a new space in the IHFC’s Commerce wing (759) on the 7th floor, “positioning the brand to capture more walk-by traffic while maintaining close proximity to the Ashley dealer network.”

Interest in High Point as a mattress market remains high, Wooden said. “We continue to see strong interest from mattress brands exploring High Point as a way to connect with furniture-oriented retailers,” she said. “As plans are finalized, we anticipate being able to share additional announcements around new exhibitors in the future.”
