Coyuchi is crowdfunding: So what?

Sustainable home textile company Coyuchi is seeking to expand its business through a crowdfunding campaign with Manhattan Street Capital. The campaign aims to raise funds to support Coyuchi’s sustainability mission and its range of environmentally friendly products, and offers investors the opportunity to invest in the company’s growth.

Values investing

Manhattan Street Capital, the investment bank handling the crowdfunding campaign, is known for its expertise in supporting companies that are at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. It offers a range of services to help companies raise capital, including legal support, marketing and investor relations.

Values investing has grown in popularity in the past two decades, especially amongst non-accredited investors who have begun dipping their toes into the investment pools via apps such as Acorns or Public or sites like Republic, which have options to narrow a search for potential investment opportunities into what you value, i.e. sustainability.

This will continue to be the case, so it is beneficial for companies to lean into their values as a means of differentiating themselves from the competition both for selling products and for fundraising from investors.

Sustainability statement-makers

Coyuchi has established itself as a leader of sustainability in the industry. Its commitment to environmental and social responsibility is reflected in everything from its products and production processes to its labor practices. It checks all the boxes we look for to confirm it really walks the walk and is not merely hopping on the greenwashing bandwagon.

Its decision to crowdfund rather than seek venture capital or traditional financing is also driven by its commitment to its mission of sustainability. The company aims to remain true to its roots and continue to provide customers with high-quality, eco-friendly products.

Its bedding, bath towels and other textiles are made from natural materials such as organic cotton, linen and wool. They are free from harmful chemicals and dyes, and they support farmers and workers who are committed to ecologically and ethically responsible practices. Coyuchi is certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and Fair Trade USA.

Its commitment to environmental and social responsibility is reflected in its production processes, which minimizes waste and energy usage, and supports fair labor practices, and it has implemented a number of waste reduction initiatives to minimize its environmental footprint.

Interested investors can participate through Manhattan Street Capital, which assists companies in raising capital. To participate in the campaign, investors can purchase shares in Coyuchi through Manhattan Street Capital’s platform. The minimum investment amount is $450, and there is no maximum investment limit.
