Welcome to the fourth installment of Bedding News Now’s look at the best mattress retailers across the country. This report profiles bedding standouts in the Southwest.
We developed these reports by inviting industry submissions, combing through the latest installment of the Home News Now 125 Furniture and Bedding Retailers, and then identified other mattress retailers known for their commitment to the category. After reviewing our candidates with a number of mattress manufacturers, suppliers, and consultants, we arrived at our selections for the Best In Bedding Retailers in each region.
We excluded national mattress retailers like Mattress Firm, which have a strong presence in many regions of the country.
The retailers we are saluting are not listed by volume. Our goal is not to simply recognize mattress revenues, although many of these retailers are generating high mattress volumes, but to celebrate the depth of commitment to the mattress category in all sizes of bedding operations, from single-store giants to chains with hundreds of stores.

Best In Bedding in the Southwest: 3Z Brands
3Z Brands, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is a vertically integrated manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer and direct-to-consumer seller of mattresses and sleep products. The company’s brands include direct-to-consumer names Brooklyn Bedding, Helix Sleep, Birch by Helix, Bear Mattress, Nolah and Leesa as well as its white label solutions, Southerland and 40Winks. Each brand operates under its own identity and individual website. Brooklyn Bedding also operates 13 showrooms in Arizona; one showroom is temporarily closed for renovations. In January 2026, 3Z Brands announced a refresh of its Brooklyn Bedding product line and the launch of a new national retail program, introducing new designs and technologies aimed at enhancing the in-store experience and supporting retail partners.
Why they stand out: “3Z has built an impressive growth platform by bringing together a diverse portfolio of well-known brands, rapidly expanding manufacturing capacity, and highly effective marketing,” says Mike Magnuson, CEO of GoodBed, a leading provider of independent mattress testing, ratings, and product intelligence. “In a short period, they’ve developed vertically integrated production with a very broad range of capabilities, and they’ve translated their digital marketing success into real advantages for brick-and-mortar retail partners. At a time when the bedding industry is facing significant headwinds, 3Z has demonstrated the ability to align manufacturing, brand building, and distribution in ways that have fueled remarkable results.”

Help us honor excellence in mattress retailing: Bedding News Now will be joining with Andmore and sponsors Bread Financial, Snap Finance, and Serta Simmons Bedding to host a bedding event at the Las Vegas Market at 4:30 p.m., Monday, July 27, at WorldView on the 16th floor of Building B on the World Market Center campus. We will be honoring top mattress retailers at that event, which is open to all market attendees. Cocktails and appetizers will be served.
