BIA hires Paul Kenis as VP of business development for Midwest region

Bedding Industries of America has named Paul Kenis as its new vice president of business development for its Midwest region. In this new role, Kenis will identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, expand BIA’s market presence and work with sales representatives and retailers in the Midwest region, including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Dakota, South Dakota, western Pennsylvania, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin. He will report to BIA Chief Operating Officer Philip Carlitz.

Kenis most recently served as a lead on business development at The Bedding Group, a fourth-generation, family-owned mattress manufacturer. Prior to this, he worked as a field consultant for Henry Shein, a worldwide distributor of medical and dental supplies.

Before that, he served as operations manager for his family business, Morris Furniture, founded in Albert Lea, Minnesota, in 1933. His in-depth knowledge of the furniture and mattress industry, as well as his proven track record in business development and strategic planning, make him a valuable addition to the BIA leadership team.

“It’s undeniable why BIA has such a storied legacy and is recognized as a leader in the bedding industry,” Kenis says. “I’m astounded by the breadth of its portfolio of brands and its aggressive growth over the past couple of years. Add in that the leadership team is second to none. It’s an exciting time to join the BIA team and I’m looking forward to contributing to the company’s future successes.”
