ISPA announces education, speakers and more for upcoming sustainability conference

The International Sleep Products Association’s next Sustainability Conference will be held Sept. 25-26 at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina. The conference will provide a platform for mattress industry professionals to convene, exchange insights and foster innovative solutions that companies can use to move sustainability initiatives forward. The 2024 agenda aims to appeal to mattress manufacturers, suppliers and retailers at any stage of the sustainability journey.

The 2024 conference will provide opportunities for collaboration among attendees from around the globe and cover sustainability topics relevant to the industry, including sustainability, communication, legislative updates, greenwashing, energy management in manufacturing, mattress recycling developments and more.

A preconference seminar on circular design principles with Melissa Bilec, co-director of the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation and professor in civil and environmental engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, will be offered to attendees as an optional, paid add-on session that will also cover environmental economics, supply chain management, life cycle assessments and consumer behavior.

Ahead of the conference, the Mattress Recycling Council will host a circular design work group to discuss mattress deconstruction challenges and how to improve the circularity of mattress designs. Conference tabletop exhibits will showcase companies and products that attendees can use to advance their sustainability plans.
