A memorial mass for bedding veteran Ed Lilly will be held Jan. 31 in St. Charles, Illinois.
Lilly, who held senior positions with Sealy and Serta before founding Lilly Management Group, died Dec. 12 in St. Charles, where he lived for 32 years. He was 81.
The mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles. Father Tim Seigel will be the celebrant.
Immediately following the service, a celebration of life event will be held at nearby Prairie Landing Golf Club.
Lilly’s career in the home furnishings industry spanned half a century. He began his bedding career at Strawbridge & Clothier, a Philadelphia-based department store, before moving to Sealy Inc., where he spent 11 years. From 1990 to 2004, he was CEO and president of Serta Inc., steadily building that brand. In 2005, he and former Serta executive Susan Ebaugh founded Lilly Management Group, which remains active today.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lilly’s name to the Disabled American Veterans, 2122 W. Taylor St., Chicago, IL, 60612; to Lighthouse Hospice, 2807 Centre Circle, Downers Grove, IL, 60515; or to a charity of your choice.
