Posh+Lavish introduces Haute Couture collection with horsehair

Posh+Lavish is introducing its Haute Couture collection nationwide, made with extravagant and exotic natural components. Most notably, the Haute Couture collection features horsehair.

Posh+Lavish uses 9 pounds of horse mane and tail hair in a king-size bed alone. Horsehair has been used in the finest mattresses in the world since the 1800s. Both strong and silky, it has excellent adaptive support due to its pliability. Horsehair is especially breathable, naturally, and mattresses made with horsehair have extraordinary longevity

“We have had retailers ask us for a next-level mattress collection to sit above our mattresses for a while now,” said Kurt Ling, principal at Posh+Lavish, “When we did our research, it was clear to us that the next-level ultra-luxury position above all natural rubber, wool and cotton would include even more exceptional fibers and another level of handcraftsmanship.”

The collection is significantly different than the traditional mattress Posh+Lavish has been building for the past decade. It is both hand-tufted and has a tape edge. Posh+Lavish mattresses are well known for their all-natural rubber, wool and cotton components and construction. The Haute Couture collection adds horsehair, alpaca hair and hand-tufting to allow ultra-luxury consumers to invest in a mattress.

The Haute Couture collection ranges in retail price points from $4,479 to $7,439.

“In typical Posh+Lavish fashion, the distinguishing and distinctive fibers are generous in quantity for the true benefit they can deliver and not a sprinkling of them for story alone,” Ling says. “The king-size Haute Couture mattress is hand-tufted and features not only 9 pounds of horsehair, but 4 pounds of alpaca, 12 pounds of wool and 3 pounds of cotton in a king.

“The remarkable natural fibers we are using in the Haute Couture collection are not only real benchmarks of ultra-luxury mattresses in the mind of consumers but real in quantity,” he continues. “Our goal is to provide unique product offerings to retailers that set them apart in their marketplaces and to give luxury consumers what they are looking for and willing to pay a premium for.”

The Haute Couture mattress comes with both an optional 3-inch and 4-inch top mattress pairing.
