Gold Bond aims to redefine the boxed-bed model with the launch of its Ultra 12-inch all-foam mattress. The mattress features Gold Bond’s new ArcticTouch cooling technology and an unprecedented 5-pound carbon-infused visco foam, among other features.
“There’s been a stigma around boxed mattresses where they’re perceived as lower quality, so it took us a while to find the right version that would live up to the Gold Bond reputation for quality,” says Gold Bond CEO Robert Naboicheck. “We have found several new innovations that enable Ultra 12-inch to be that level of quality while embracing the convenient shipping model inherent to the boxed-bed models.”
The Ultra features a multilayer construction that prioritizes comfort and performance. The base is composed of a 7-inch high-density foam topped with a 2-inch comfort layer that helps build the mattress’ plush feel. Elevating the comfort level is a 2-inch layer of ultra-soft visco foam that contours to the body.
However, what sets it apart is the 1-inch carbon-infused 5-pound super-soft visco foam. Beyond providing exceptional pressure release, the active carbon effectively traps odors and pollutants to maintain a fresh sleeping environment. All the foam is CertiPUR certified, meaning it’s free of phthalates, heavy metals and “tris” flame retardants.
Gold Bond has also integrated features to keep sleepers cool throughout the night. The Ultra features an open-cell design, facilitating superior airflow compared to conventional memory foam variants, enhancing breathability and dissipating heat effectively. Additionally, Gold Bond incorporated cutting-edge ArticTouch fabric, an advanced material that provides a threefold increase in thermal energy exchanged compared to traditional polyester fabrics, to guarantee a consistently cool and comfortable sleep surface.
The Ultra retails for $2,499 in queen and can be shipped either in a box or flat-packed, depending on the retailers’ and consumers’ preferences. It’s also adjustable-friendly and, as with all Gold Bond products, delivered within four- to five-day time frames.
