Cariloha Announces Intern Retail Recruits for Final 2024 Semester
Cariloha announced its recent intern retail recruits for their final 2024 semester. Cariloha’s internship program, established in 2009 as an initiative by Cariloha CEO Jeff Pedersen during the brand’s retail expansion, continues to attract top talent across the nation.
Cariloha hires approximately 100 interns and managers from over 1,500 applications across three school semesters. These interns come from a diverse range of educational backgrounds, including students currently enrolled in regional colleges to recent college graduates from prestigious Ivy League universities with diverse disciplines and experiences.
Interns are interviewed, hired, trained at Cariloha headquarters in Sandy, Utah, and deployed to various Cariloha showrooms in some of the most stunning travel destinations in the world, including Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, and the U.S.’s Pacifica and Atlantic coastlines. Here, they gain hands-on sales, inventory, and marketing experience in front-line retail operations and can choose additional tracks in management development or social media.
Beyond their primary roles, Cariloha interns play a crucial role in local community initiatives like Cariloha’s Sustainable Saturdays, which utilizes intern and local teams to organize beach clean-ups and volunteering for local causes, reflecting Cariloha’s commitment to social and environmental improvement as a Certified B-corporation.
“We’ve been very fortunate to have so many talented people work for us over the past 15 years,” says Dustin Tate, Cariloha EVP of Sales. “The interns strengthen their work portfolios and gain valuable experiences living in some of the most beautiful locations in the world – all while learning the frontlines of a retail and marketing company.”
Cariloha benefits greatly from the intern representation by way of their strong work ethic, positive energy, and drive to succeed. At present, Cariloha has over 1,000 intern alumni throughout the world who are brand ambassadors for the company. Their ongoing involvement through social media and other events connects more fans to the Cariloha brand, perpetually promoting the brand’s products and core values.
The internship program not only provides valuable experience for students but also serves as a talent pipeline for Cariloha. Over 40% of current Cariloha showroom managers and corporate headquarters employees began their careers as interns, highlighting the program’s success in developing future leaders for the company.
