MLily makes first round of donations for hurricane recovery

In collaboration with Mattress Outlet of Johnson City, MLily USA donated 220 mattresses to help victims of Hurricane Helene. This was the first of several planned donations the company will be making in the coming weeks to some of the hardest-hit areas in North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida.

MLily sales representatives Gregg and Grayson Layne delivered the mattresses to Mattress Outlet of Johnson City, which held an event the same day for victims to pick up free mattresses. Officials at the event said all the mattresses had been distributed within an hour.

Based in Knoxville, Tenn., MLily plans to donate and deliver a total of 3,000 mattresses to about eight locations, working with retailer partners in three states to help get them to individuals and local organizations in need of supplies and temporary shelter. In addition to working with local retailers, MLily has been coordinating efforts with local YMCAs, Buncombe County Emergency, and the East Tennessee Fund.

“As a company with deep ties to Tennessee and the Carolinas, we feel a strong sense of responsibility to support those in need, especially in the wake of disasters like Hurricane Helene. With our donation of mattresses, we hope to provide a bit of comfort and relief to families as they begin the difficult process of recovery,” says Derek Leishman, MLily national sales director.
